PRE-DIABETES AND WEIGHT GAIN
Obesity is a root cause of Insulin
Resistance, which, in turn, is a key factor in
the development of reversible Pre-Diabetes.
If neglected, this latter condition severely increases
the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, which, in the vast
majority of cases, can only be managed for the rest of
the Diabetic's life and may require daily injections of
insulin.
Reversing Insulin Resistance can be a crucial factor in
the prevention of Pre- and Type 2 Diabetes and its attendant
risk of Cardiovascular Disease.
Insulin is the hormone responsible for allowing glucose,
or blood sugar, to be absorbed by the cells of the body,
where it is converted to energy. If you are Insulin Resistant,
your cells react sluggishly to insulin.
When you eat a meal, whether it's steak, fish or vegetables,
the body breaks it down into a usable energy form, namely
glucose.
In a simplified explanation, the food you consume becomes
sugar that will be transported to the tissues, muscles and
organs of the body via the blood stream to be converted into
energy. Following a meal, particularly one that is high in
carbohydrates, you will have elevated levels of glucose in
the blood stream, which signal the pancreas to release even
more insulin until the excess glucose is absorbed by the
cells.
When you are Insulin Resistant, excessive amounts of free-floating
unconverted glucose remain in the blood stream until they
are sent to the liver and converted to excess body fat. In
addition, hyperinsulinemia (elevated insulin in the
blood) encourages your liver to produce even more triglycerides
which are directly related to a greater risk of heart disease.
Insulin Resistance and Serious Health Conditions
Insulin Resistance promotes fat storage because glucose
cannot properly enter the cells to be used as energy. Elevated
levels of insulin in the blood stream lead to a series of
biochemical reactions with wide-ranging consequences. As
well as Pre-Diabetes, it can lead to a variety of serious
health conditions, such as the cluster of increased risks
for cardiovascular disorders called Metabolic Syndrome (Syndrome
X) and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a leading cause
of female infertility as well as menstrual irregularity,
skin conditions and excess facial and body hair.
The interactions of Insulin Resistance, obesity and Pre-Diabetes
are complex and still under medical review. Many scientists
believe that this is a case of "which came first: the
chicken or the egg." Insulin Resistance contributes
to obesity and is an underlying cause of Pre-Diabetes,
while obesity worsens Insulin Resistance, which then accelerates
the development of Pre-Diabetes, which, if left unchecked,
can lead to Type 2 Diabetes. It is likely that each disorder
exacerbates the other in a vicious cycle.
Another factor in Pre-Diabetes may be the role of inflammation,
which is part of the body's immune system. Inflammation triggers
a defense response to harmful stimuli or injury by sending
specialized blood cells to damaged areas where they attack "invaders" like
the renegade molecules called "free radicals" and
clean up dead and dying cells.
In the case of inflammation and Pre-Diabetes, the "invader" is
thought to be excess levels of insulin, which can be caused
by the imbalance of blood glucose and insulin called Insulin
Resistance. To learn more, click

If you don't seem to be able to lose weight at first, don't
despair. While weight loss is always advisable for good health,
it's possible to be overweight and fit. To learn more, click Overweight

Because there is no single solution that addresses all the
symptoms of Insulin Resistance or Pre-Diabetes, you
must rely on a multi-faceted approach to reversing these
conditions. A complete system is required to address the
issues presented by these syndromes - one that includes
nutraceuticals (vitamins, herbs and minerals that are
disease specific), a realistic exercise program combined
with nutritional guidance and support that will motivate
you to make healthy lifestyle choices.
The Insulite Pre-Diabetes System is
scientifically designed to reverse Insulin Resistance and
obesity-linked Pre-Diabetes. It includes a formulation
called Pre-InsulX, which contains magnesium that decreases
glucose and insulin levels in the blood stream, a key factor
in reducing weight gain.
